The Elementary Science Club has made it their goal to address the issues facing our environment and its creatures. The 6th grade members have registered for Scholastic's Lexus Challenge. Throughout the school year they will be given four challenges that focus on making the communtiy aware of global issues and how we can deal with those issues at our small town level.
Our first challenge is to reduce waste that is sent to the landfill which will help with groundwater quality, save animal habitats, and reduce polution created when making new products. They are going strong in promoting all the recycling programs Cumby Elementary has started. They should be complimented for their efforts. Hats off to you, Earth Buddies!
